I wanted to post this on linuxforum.com but I could not remember my password and when I attempted to recover it it would not e-mail me. So...

I have just put together an old box to run a linux server on using the book "Setting Up LAMP." I am having two problems.

1. Whenever I am plugged in to the LAN/internet the following keeps popping up on my screen.

IN=eth0 OUT= MAC=ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:00:0c:f1:de:36:24:08:00 SRC=192.168.1.102 DST=192.168.1.255 LEN=78 TOS=0x00 TTL=128 ID=30168 PROTO=UDP SPT=137 DPT=137 LEN=58

Although this does not effect what I am doing it is very annoying and I must make it stop or the moniter is going to go crashing through the nearest window.

2. When I run the firewall script the book had me create none of the insmod modules will load. All of them get a "No such file or directory" error.

Please help

that's just your firewall blocking incoming / outgoing requests and logging it to the console. It's pretty normal.

I'd honestly recommend you checkout APF: http://www.rfxnetworks.com -> Products it's a Free linux based firewall and we use it as an iptables enhancement.
