When I try run "Help" from the Photoshop file menu, all I get is this error message: "Adobe Help cannot start. Model subsystem returned this error: 1105."

Then when I click the "OK" button to dismiss the messagebox, I get another error message: "The operation could not be completed."

Clicking "OK" to dismiss *that* messagebox brings up a final error message: "The instruction at '0x00864a4d' referenced memory at '0x00e50b08'. The memory could not be 'written'. Click on OK to terminate the program."

This is a brand-new installation of Photoshop CS2 on a virgin-clean new install of Windows XP with Service Pack 2. Does anyone have any suggestions to help me fix this?

Thanks,
Ron Marz

What are your 'permissions' under XP?

Try logging in as the Administrator and see if the problem is resolved.

Ron,

Do you have a folder called "Adobe Help Center"?

If so, what happens when you double-click on ahc.exe in that folder?

Hi,

I'm getting the same error when i try to initialize Adobe Help Center
recieve : *Clicking "OK" to dismiss *that* messagebox brings up a fina
error message: "The instruction at '0x00864a4d' referenced memory a
'0x00e50b08'. The memory could not be 'written'. Click on OK t
terminate the program."*

I'm running window XP service pack 2, 2.4ghz, 992 MB RAM, 740 M
Virtual memory, and the Adobe Creative Suite2 Education Version.

When I called adobe tech support they told me to transfer m
activation, before uninstalling and also by running msconfig choos
selective start up from the general tab then under services click hid
microsoft applications, and then uncheck any of the programs left over
From that point do an uninstall then under the run menu, then type
%temp% " to remove any additional temporary adobe files (this comman
shows all your temp files or temporary files that can be deleted).
then to do to a reinstall, keeping the computer in selective start up
do a reinstall.

But in reinstalling the Adobe, the error continued to pop up during th
reinstall, so I called back and the tech said it was due to a ba
memory sector on the ram or the hard drive, so for now I'm stuck, i
Limbo, I've done a scan and defrag and I've found no errors on the har
drive so I'm thinking an error with my RAM?? I'm stuck for now :
Testing my RAM next. Was hoping to find a solution online. (sigh) Hel
me?

Windows Service Pack2 seems to be the problem - Adobe have webpage devoted
to the problem and its solution -
