This may seem stupid to some of you, but when I got PS CS2, the second thing I tried was the noise reduction (first being the vanishing point). I was expecting something like noise ninja (I used the trial, and it was great), and thought I would have saved myself from spending $50 or whatever it costs. So, I tried it on a picture of a concert taken in low light, using ISO 3200. Full of noise. The noise ninja trial worked great, but the photoshop CS2 noise reduction hardly did anything. If you zoom up really close, you can see a slight difference, but the picture as a whole still has tons of noise. I tried messing with the settings, and nothing really worked. Am I doing something wrong, or is there some way to more effectively remove the noise. Any help would be useful. Thanks.

seriously, it's a new feature and i suspect that people are still playing around with it.

The PS tool removes colour noise really well, and does a fair job on the luminosity noise in images from my compact digicam. However I agree on very high ISO large 20D files it doesn't make too much difference - I use ACR to remove the chroma noise anyway, which it does very effectively. Noise ninja or Neat Image (I have both) both work well on the luminosity nose from those very high ISO files
