Is there a plugin that would help in enlarging an image without getting
pixelated? I want to enlarge a small photo to a larger one. I am using PS
CS. Thanks, Tom

Tom,
There isn't a plugin that I know of, but there's a way I learned from Scott
Kelby (he's got a bunch of books on photoog...)
Open the image in CS.
Then "Image", "Size".
Change "Inches" or whatever to "percent"
Be sure "Resample image" is checked.
Make the "Width" 110% (10% increment).
Click OK
You will notice the image growing some.
Click on "Image", "Size".
Change "Inches" or whatever to "percent"
Be sure "Resample image" is checked.
Make the "Width" 110% (10% increment).
Click OK
And so on 6 or 7 times.
For some reason, if the image you started with wasn't too small, it doesn't
seem to be degraded, at least, not as if you had "Enlarged it" in one fell
swoop.
I know the process is tedious, but you can create (record) an action that
will do just that for you.
It works.

There is a plugin called Genuine Fractals. At one time it was bundled with
Photoshop, but I beleive is now sold separately. One of its features is
that it allows extreme enlargements of digital photos without image
degradation.

Without too much *apparent* degradation. Every blowup will have
degradation - you are trying to create pixels out of nowhere when you blow
up an image. It's just a question of how much bigger than original can it
get before you really notice. This is different depending on the algorithm
used.

Be aware that the current release of Genuine Fractals (4.0) is not
compatible with Photoshop CS2. I have them both and Lizardtech (Genuine
Fractals) has been saying that they are working on a patch for a few months
now, but at this point the two cannot be used together. Genuine Fractals
3.0 will work with PS CS2 I'm told.
