Hi All,
I ended up at a site, www.buysusa.com ,that sells Photoshop 7 for $49.
They claim it's a legit sealed CD, it can also be registered but tech
support isn't available. Has anyone had experience with this type of
software? Is this a scam? When I clicked on the "buy" button, my browser
didn't like their certificate of identity. Has anyone else dealt with
buysusa?

On their site it says that the software is OEM that came with hardware
and fully legal. As I read their "Terms of Service", it spoke about
being an OEM copy and that the user has to have a legal license to the
same original software. By buying their software you're also agreeing
not to have your credit card company "charge back" the amount of the
purchase. Like you said,"If it sounds too good to be true it usually is..."

Since Adobe has publicly stated that there is no such thing as an OEM
Version of PhotoShop, and Resellerrating-dot-com has *nothing* on "BuysUSA"
(or anything similar) ...
It's a SCAM ... RUN (don't walk) for the nearest Exit.
FWIW:
You can check out what a vendor's "track record" is at ResellerRating.com

This is taken from their terms of service link located at the bottom of the
webpage:
7a: You are not permitted to duplicate or illegally distribute any product
purchased from Buysusa. You agree to abide by the End User License Agreement
contained within those products. You assume full responsibility for
complying with all copyright laws. All products offered by Buysusa are fully
compliant with sec. 117 of the US copyright laws. Buysusa reserves the right
to refuse any customer for any reason. You understand that in order for
Buysusa to make you a copy (OEM) of any software, you acknowledge that you
are the legal owner of this same software, and are looking to just make a
new copy (OEM) for archival (backup) purposes only.

I purchased CS2 from buysusa.com for $199 and it's everything they claim it is. Full blown version of everything. It is legit, sealed on two discs and easy to install and run. Who needs tech support anyway
