Dear god...

Just stumbled over a registrar that actually charges $2/year to let
you use domain locking? WTF?

Needless to say I took my business elsewhere. Pity though they
seemed okay other than that nuttiness.

Best Regards,

Most lock by default now.
I hated the idea of doing that but customers went loopy over the changes to
the transfer rules so we had to bow to pressure and lock all the domains.
They can unlock them but often they find that a rather onerous task.....

does seem unusual, but wth it does take all sorts. I know a firm that
charges almost 10 times the going rate to manage domains and they won't
even look at accounts with less than 1000 domain registrations.

funnily enough I'm waiting for a certain webmaster that frequents these
part to change an IPS Tag (requested 3 weeks ago).

maybe the client hasn't paid his bill or perhaps said "webperson" is

just intransigent.....and doesn't want to lose his (already lost)
client.

Thoughts on the back of a postage stamp please.

/rushes off to check

phew - thought you were talking about me for a moment. no outstanding
domain requests here, in or out atm.

Having said that, there is weird stuff happening at Nominet. Client
called me today to tell me about a domain recently transfered to my TAG.
Not a word from Nominet on the subject - they're usually hot on
notifications.

either is possible - the first must be easily fixed, the last isn't worth
worrying about once the decision is made.

Happy Midsommers.

PS: if it is a problem here (I mean 'here', not AWW), please call in the

Best Regards,

Some of them are robbing bastards. Easyspace charge ~50 to transfer a
name away.
