Do you want me to check my archived spam? I've received spam for
alcoholic beverages in the past -- even though the law here prohibits
buying alcoholic beverages from anything other than government-approved
outlets.

Additionally, many states (including Maryland) do not allow residents to
purchase liquor via mail or other shipping method. And the seller as
well as the buyer is responsible for determining the legality of the sale.

I set up a wine site once. The legalities were a horror show. Liquor
distribution in the US was set up after prohibition and hasn't changed much
since then. For the most part, shipping is only allowed between licensed
distributors - not directly to consumers. Within the past month or so
there's been some changes in the law to loosen the restricions on wine
shipping but wine doesn't ship well to begin with. IIRC, prior to that wine
could be shipped from the vineyard to the consumer but in some states, bith
had to be within the state. In other states, delivery to consumers was just
prohibited. Some cities/towns/villages had their own restrictions. The buyer
also had to present proof of age upon delivery and if no proof was available
the wine had to be shipped back imediately (couldn't try to deliver again
tomorrow), at the sellers expense.
