No probs. I use the same thing, but when I want to get something tested
properly, I ask a graphic designer friend if I can test it on his Mac :)

Cumbersome.

Safari is based on KDE's rendering engine. You might want to see if
there's a Win port for Konqueror.

There isn't, or at least not yet. There's a project at sf.net but it
seems to be dead in the water. Apparently you can get it working in
Cygwin, but I couldn't (grr).

The best suggestion I can think of is to get a CD-runnable distro like
Knoppix and test that way. Of course, although Safari is *based* on
Konqueror, I don't believe that the modifications they have made have
been back ported to KDE.

That's an excellent idea. You can pop it in the cd tray, reboot and you
have a working Linux system within a couple of minutes with Konqueror.

Some have, but not all. Although they should render fairly similarly
there will still be differences in the way they look between Konqueror
and Safari due to the different fonts/default sizes being used but then
that's not a major. I'm not sure how different javascript is rendered
between the two though if you have a javascript reliant site.

I actually bought a second hand iBook for testing on the Mac platform
and was then a little pissed off to discover it was an older version of
OSX that doesn't support Safari... never have got around to upgrading
it to the latest version yet...

Why do you quote sigs? Decent news clients (and IE as well, I'm pretty
sure), will automatically snip them when you reply, if you enable that
very nice feature.

Oh, but then you have to have one hand one the mouse and the other on
the keyboard. With my way, you do it all with just the mouse.

The one-handed way is especially useful if you're eating at the
computer or if a cat has insisted on cuddling time on your lap.

One reason those of us who use valid sigs use them is so that people
with decent and properly set up news clients don't have to bother with
that.

For some strange reason this reminded me of an old Sierra 256 colour quest
game, the one with Robin Hood. If you've ever played those old Sierra
games, you know what I'm talking about. Anyway, you point and click to
pick up things, examine things and talk to people. At one point, you
(Robin Hood) is standing next to a horse. If you click the horse, the
following dialogue comes up[1]:

You: "Horse, can you speak?"

Horse: "Neigh"

You: "I thought not."

Why not both? Have a nip, then a nap. :-)

Negate the nipping by napping?  Nay.  :)

:)

I don't know that I've played any Sierra adventure games. Weren't they
all swords and magicians and spells and other fantasy stuff? I don't
do that kind of stuff. But I've done other games of that genre, like
the LucasArts Indiana Jones series. Sure, that's fiction, but at least
it doesn't have elves and that kind of stuff. Okay, I've also spent
plenty of time lost in twisty passageways and probably bought some
juice from Frobozz Electric. But those really weren't magic-BASED
games.

The grue senses your presence.
