Haven't touched my account there in many moons.
Now I can get to it via their front end, but not via CuteFTP (different ID/PW
for FTP).
Looks like the data's still there and people can read the pages - but when I
look at the account status, the dates are goofey.
Created on 2004-12-09,
Expires on 2005-01-09,
Payment=Ok
Payment is in one-year increments...
Of course they haven't responded to any of the emails I've sent...
Sounds to me like it's time for sending some money to, maybe, AffordableHost.
I've already got another account there, but I think it's a freebie and they seem
to have moved the servers around. It's accessible by address but, again, not
via CuteFTP. Recommendations solicited....
Anybody else been here with Discount-Hosting? It's only twelve bucks, but it
seems to me like they have a bonafide system problem somewhere.

Never been there, but a great example of you get what you pay for. |

When you logon to affordablehost, you will see a list of all of the old
servers and the corresponding new servers. You will have to edit your
profile in CuteFTP and change to the new server before it will work.

Me. A bonafide case of RCI - before your very eyes.
Thanks for the correction/observation.
Now I just have to figure out why the FTP UserID/PW doesn't work.

That's probably going to nail it for AffordableHost. Thanks one more time.

I'm not defending AH but they reduced the number of servers from 24 to
13 and renamed all of them. I think that anytime you have that situation
with any host, your are going to have to modify CuteFTP in order to
access your site.

That's not entirely accurate. ;-)

Its not that difficult to alias the old servername to the new servername -
so that customers using the old hostname aren't inconvenienced. We've done
it plenty of times.
