Does anyone know of a asp hosting company that maintains web servers and
database servers in diifferent geographical areas, and can replicate a
SQL Server database from one to the other?
Thanks,
Steve

We can do that, but the secondary server would probably have to be
dedicated to you - depending on what else you need.
Are you looking for resilience, data backup or something else?

You're in the UK, right William?
I have access to two IIS servers, one maintained by the guy who handles my
colo in the Midwestern US, and one out here on the West Coast, at an ISP I
do contract work for. The ISP out here also has a SQL server running. Not
sure about my colo provider, who does some hosting but primarily refers
hosting stuff to me.
We could work something out. I'm sure my ISP friend wouldn't turn away
money. (nor would my colo guy, but I have to find out whether he's running
SQL or not. The ISP is running Windows Server 2003 and SQL Server 2000 with
all of the updates.)

Sounds like a plan

ok - do you know how much control they have over the networking
infrastructure? Ideally I'd like to run SQL replication over a VPN - and
site replication too if it comes to that although there are other ways to
skin that cat, subversion springs to mind.
I currently have resources in three network centres but SQL Server
currently only in one that I would consider to be production class. My
2nd SQL Server is really only suitable for backup duty - wouldn't want to
run a production site off it. Is reliable enough but the latency is a
little poor.
