I'm looking for a website engine which combines the functionality of a
Wiki and a Forum.

Ideally, this software would allow my visitors to:
- register one account for both Wiki and Forum
- be able to modify Wiki content (also anonymously, without
registration)
- be able to add short comments to any Wiki page (also anonymously)
- be able to participate in a threaded forum discussion (also
anonymously)

Ideally, it would not be bloated, either.

Is there any software out there which combines hassle free (no
registration required) nature of a Wiki and the community aspects (if
you register, we can mail you) of a Forum?

Any good Wiki+Forum combos out there?

Thanks in advance for your recommendations.

Mike

It is a great question. I looked and could not find anything. On my
site, I use separate wiki (MediaWiki) for documentation, separate
forum (Hypernews) for algebra talk, and my own CMS for more math
specific stuff like homework problems, lessons and solvers.

Unfortunately, all of them have separate signons.

When I read your subject line, I thought you were simply looking for Wikis
functioning as forums, which is something I worked on in the past (
http://www.schestowitz.com/Software/Correspondence_Wiki/ )

Having read your message body, I suggest you look into the later versions of
GPL PHP-Nuke ( http://phpnuke.org ). Registered users/guests can add
comments in a threaded fashion, can submit news (i.e. publish as registered
visitors; moderation required from superusers) and phpBB is built-in so
they can use the same account for personal messages and the forum. All
policies and privileges are quite flexible and I am sure you can customise
it to suit your needs.

Although I haven't used the Wiki portion, I'm 99% sure Xoops has at
least one module for a Wiki. I know they have forums. It's a CMS with a
large number of modules. You may want to take a look and see if that
will work: http://www.xoops.org
