RULES

1. NEVER POST YOUR FTP, EMAIL, cPANEL PASSWORD IN THESE FORUMS!

2. NO ADVERTISING OF ANY WEBSITES, SERVICES OR PRODUCTS IS ACCEPTABLE IN THE FORUMS. Any posts in violation of the rules will be deleted with or without notice, and you may be warned, and or banned from the site.

Allowed exceptions:

* You may post adverts seeking web development services, or advertising your availability to provide such services in the PHP Freelancing Forum. Read the Freelancing Posting Guidelines for additional instructions on using that Forum.

* You may include links to websites you wish to promote in your signature, so long as these are done in a simple and non-distracting manner. Simple links, like those found in my own signature are a good example of how to accomplish this.

3. NO PORNOGRAPHY OR LINKS TO PORNOGRAPHIC SITES IS ACCEPTABLE. This includes requesting critiques of Adult websites.

Guidelines:

1. Before you post a question make sure you've checked the following resources:

- Knowledgebase: http://support.Work the web.com OR login to your client area and click the Support Icon at the top right corner.

- Google: http://ww.google.com
- The website of the product you may be using IE: phpBB (http://www.phpbb.com) etc.

- One of our various network websites:

2. Pick the right forum for your question. If you don't see the right forum, and nowhere to put your question, request a forum from the administrators!

3. Ask good questions! Consider the wording of your question carefully, be specific about your problem(s), and make sure that you have actually asked a question. Use punctuation and spelling to the best of your ability. Run on paragraphs without sentence breaks, and full of mispelled words limits your chances for a reply

4. Allow a few hours for an answer. As this forum grows, the time it takes to get your answers will be shorter. If it's your question, make sure to check "Notify me when a reply is posted" and the board will email you when people reply to your message.

5. Some problems are hard to diagnose. If someone requests more information, clarification, or asks you to add debugging code, don't dismiss their requests if you expect to receive additional responses.

6. Read replies *carefully*.

7. Try out suggestions. If you need clarification of a reply, post a followup reply in the same thread. If you make changes, make sure to post the changed code in a reply, so that everyone is clear what changes you have implemented.

Things NOT TO DO:

1. Don't ask a fellow member to login and fix your problem for you. By providing access to your account, you are risking compromising your website and our servers.

2. DO NOT POST YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IN PLAIN TEXT OR LINK FORMAT! Save yourself the headache of all that SPAM!

3. DO NOT assume that this is an official means of technical support, and do not expect an answer immediately by posting here.

4. The experts answering your questions are contributing their time and expertise for Free. If you have an urgent problem and need priority help, you should use the appropriate technical support means listed in this post.

5. Do not Private Message a question to try and get help faster.

Part of the benefit to the community of asking your question, is that any answers you receive may benefit others who are following the thread, or those with similar problems who find it in the future while searching. Ask your question in the forums.

6. DON'T ask the same question in multiple Topics.

7. DON'T ask the same question in more than one Forum, or in the same forum more than once.

8. DO NOT private contact a mod via email/MSN/AIM/ICQ etc....

9. DO NOT use the "Report" Icon to draw attention to your post by the moderators in order to get quicker help. This will cause deletion of your post and removal of your membership on this site!
