Today I attempted to import a photoshop document, something I have been able
to do before. Instead I received an error, telling my it can not open the
file because of an error. I tried opening other Photoshop files, but no
luck. I even resaved the file, but still no luck. Any ideas? I have the
latest quicktime installed.

Flash does not directly imports PSD file , it require QuickTime to convert them on the fly , do you have the latest version of QT installed ?
Of perhaps you use adobe photoshop CS ? it might not be supported yet.
