I am new to flash and the manual isn't very helpful. What I want to know is if there is a way to have a button when a cursor hovers over it, it plays an animated gif, but then you can also click on it to take you to another web page. When I try I can only make it play as a movie where my button flashes then the animation plays. I'm sorry I can't word it better. Any explanation or tutorial would be greately appreciated.

Thanks

I would suggest buying a book, like "Flash MX Bible". It is very useful.

You need to make sure you are using the "Button" Symbol if you don't want to
do this with actionscript.

In your "Over" section of the Button Symbol, put your movie symbol there.
That way anytime someone puts the mouse over your button it makes the movie
play (Movie Symbol, be it animated gif, mini flash movie whatever)

I know this doesn't help you tonight but it would take a long time to type
out an explenation of how to make it work, maybe someone else knows of a
tutorial. Seriously if you want to get better in flash grab a book, spend a
couple of hours in Barnes and Nobles to find that book that sorta hits what
you are trying to accomplish.
