i'm going to apologise upfront about this, it's a complete newbie question:

i've been used to flash 4, and have been trying out mx 2004. nice, very nice. but i have one simple question which is - How do i get buttons to work?

some may find this simple, but i can't figure it out. i've created the buttons (x2) and 2 scenes but can't get my head round how to get the buttons to swap between these scenes.

You need to right click the buttons on the stage and add an action
it should be something like this

on (release) {
gotoAndPlay("Scene 2", 1);
}
