Despite Macromedia's inital claims that the SQL resolver would be in MX2004,
they just released this note on the emerging issues page:
Macromedia surveyed users of Firefly and Flash and found that the user base
did not want Macromedia to continue to invest in building out the SQL Server
connector at this time. We will continue to survey users and use that
guidance to inform future product directions.

This means your forced to bog down your servers (skyrocketing your server
farm needs and costs, not to mention pricey application server licenses).
Sure it will sell more copies of cold fusion and flash remoting, but you are
now doubling the processing load for the client/server application and this
makes the product severly flawed at the design level. (See RDBMS design
flaw thread). Not to mention, application building now requires an extra
task of server side programing (more time and money) that was previously
un-needed.
Why?

From other Macromedia pages:
"Flash MX 2004 Professional share many of the same fundamental concepts as
the Firefly components, Macromedia has made numerous enhancements to them
and has fully incorporated them into the v2 of the Macromedia Component
Architecture. "

"The Macromedia Flash Data Connection Kit functionality is being enhanced
and incorporated into the new Macromedia Flash MX Professional 2004 product.
"

Apparently not.
