no clues can stick to him. He ain't saying "sorry, I won't do that again."

Hence his Clueless Newbie of the Month award for May.

The 'Tard does not win those k00k awards because he is popular.

He shouldn't have to to apologize for anything. Supernews ought to
advise the sniveling whiners complaining about post editing to simply
use their kill filters.

If you don't like what somebody's psoting, simply don't read it.
Difficult concept for some people to grasp, eh?

In case you've forgotten, you don't limit your post editing to supernews.*.
You obviously got Mr Abuse Desk's little love note, and one presumes read
it.  The distinction is clearly made there.  This really DOES have to be
spelled out for you, doesn't it.

It is handy that you posted that warning, really, as it makes your reply

Deliberately changing what someone wrote and quoting it in a manner that
it is either directly attributed to them or left open to leave the
impression it was written by a dumbass sure seems to be walking the
line of fun and prankism depending on what you said and whether it caused that
person to laugh or fart.  I'm a clown lawyer  (that's for certain), so
from the abuse desk POV I seem to fit well enough.

That clear it up for you?  The TOS will be getting a make-over soon, as soon
as I learn to spell.  But  we don't need anything specifically for your
actions at this point.

That doesn't keep these deliberate misquoting/misattributing out of
Google Groups or other archives or keep anyone else from reading them.
In fact, your suggestion does not a thing to make Uni's post editing
less harmful.

If someone were looking into a prospective employee and popped that
person's email address into a search on Google Groups, they would get
the posts where that address appears in the body (in the attrib line).
If they get one where Uni has altered what was said in a damaging way
they are unlikely to think "Gosh, that's just some joker having fun,
let's read the whole thread and pay close attention to ensure we don't
skip what we assume we already read". By putting words into their
mouth, Uni is potentially damaging someone's reputation.

"Just use a killfile" has it's place, and that is what we suggest in our
abuse@ autoresponse to most everything short of actual Usenet abuse. We
don't say "just use a killfile" to reports of spam, for instance, nor
for flooding, forgery, etc. Post editing is abusive, especially when
done on a large scale, and shares many traits in common with forgery IMO
as far as it's potential effects go.

We agree, but Uni seems to think if he doesn't like the post, he should
just change it...

This isn't about people not liking to read Uni's edited posts. The
offended party is not so much the one reading the post but the person
who made the post which was edited. Since they lack our reverse
killfile technology, they can't exactly keep Uni from seeing their posts
and thus not altering what they said.
